As the Dean, Faculty of Arts, responsible for the curriculum design, implementation and monitoring of all the arts subjects at the Post-Graduate level of Andhra University. As Ex-Officio Member of the Academic Senate of Andhra University, actively involved in the shaping of academic policies of the University.
During the tenure, Senior most faculty member of all the constituent colleges of Andhra University including its Arts & Commerce, Law, Science & Technology, Pharmacy and Engineering Colleges.
Headed the School of Distance Education as Director, Andhra University, an institution that has 60,000 + students on rolls, offering 53 courses at P G, P G Diploma, U G, Diploma, Certificates in diversified disciplines, with a network of 38 Study Centers across the state of Andhra Pradesh and at New Delhi, holding examinations at about 50 Centers.
Lead a strong team of Professors / academic councilors of more than 1000 for P G Courses and U G Courses involving in the preparation of course material, Personal Contact Programmes and Week-End Programmes teaching, evaluation and publication of results.
Supervised an administrative staff of more than 200 consisting of Joint Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Superintendants, Senior Assistants, Junior Assistants and other technical staff.
Responsible for the infrastructure of more than 70,000 Sq Ft of built up space, computer labs with 100 systems, class rooms, library and common facilities like nationalized bank branch and post office.
Has experience in selection of teaching faculty for the University teaching departments, implementation of career advancement scheme, formulating curriculum in consultation with subject experts and its effective implementation as Dean, Academic Affairs, Andhra University.
Has conducted examinations for more than 3 lakh students each year including English Practicals in collaboration with an International Publishing Agency and a multi-national software company successfully for 4 years as Dean of Examinations, Andhra University.
As Director, the 21st Century Gurukulam at Andhra University which was recognized as the best among 9 Gurukulams under APSCHE and students from the all other Gurukulams were sent to Andhra University for remedial classes, training and placement. Associated with the construction and completion in every respect the residential campus for 21st Century Gurukulam at Etcherla in a 50-acre land and 8 blocks with a total budget of 22 crores through APHMHIDC.
Has keen interest in sports, organized tournaments, promotes charitable activities and a member of several organizations. Had humble beginning from rural area and a first-generation graduate.
