The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies – Andhra Pradesh (RGUKT-AP) has set a new national benchmark by achieving 10,773 certifications through SWAYAM NPTEL, marking one of the most outstanding academic accomplishments by a state government university in India. Moreover more than 80% students achieved Elite or higher certifications showing their technical poweress and their ability to adapt to online learning programmes.

NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) is a prestigious initiative spearheaded by seven IITs and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), aimed at enhancing the quality of engineering, science, and humanities education across the country. Through its online platform, NPTEL provides free access to high-quality course content, with  certification exams that carry immense value in both academia and industry.

Recognizing the importance of industry-aligned learning and global academic standards—and in alignment with the State Government’s emphasis on SWAYAM/NPTEL courses—RGUKT-AP introduced credit transfer for NPTEL courses starting from Semester 2 of the Academic Year 2024–2025.

This strategic academic enhancement enables third-year (E3) students to undertake two NPTEL courses and final-year (E4) students to undertake one NPTEL course, earning academic credits upon successful completion. Through this initiative, students gain access to high-quality instruction delivered by top faculty from India’s most prestigious institutions, while ensuring full compliance with UGC and AICTE norms.

This monumental success underlines RGUKT-AP’s unwavering commitment to innovative education and demonstrates the potential of integrating national-level digital learning initiatives with mainstream university curricula.
